Review policy

Draft: to be checked by a solicitor before launch.

Reviews help people choose a locksmith, so they have to be real. This policy explains how we collect, check and publish them, in line with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

Who can leave a review

• Only the customer who accepted a quote on LockedPrice, and only once the job is marked as done.
• One review per job.
• Locksmiths can't review themselves, and can't review other locksmiths.

What we publish

• We publish every genuine review, positive or negative. We don't hide or delay bad reviews.
• We don't edit what reviewers write. Next to each review we show the reviewer's first name, their postcode area and the type of job.
• Ratings shown on locksmith pages are the average of all published reviews for that locksmith.

What we don't allow

• Reviews offered or given in exchange for money, discounts or any other incentive.
• Locksmiths asking friends, family or staff to post reviews, or pressuring customers.
• Reviews that are abusive or discriminatory, contain someone's personal details, or aren't about the job.

How we check

Because a review can only come from an accepted, completed job, every review is linked to a real booking. We also look for patterns such as many reviews from linked accounts and investigate anything reported to us.

Removing a review

We only remove a review if it breaks this policy or the law. If we remove one, we keep a record of why. A locksmith who tries to post or buy fake reviews is removed from LockedPrice.
