What LockedPrice does

LockedPrice is an online marketplace. We introduce customers who need a locksmith to independent, vetted locksmiths who quote for the work. When you accept a quote, your contract for the work is with the locksmith, not with LockedPrice.

For customers

• Using LockedPrice is free. You pay the locksmith directly for the work.
• A quote is the full price for call-out and labour. Where parts can't be known in advance, the quote shows a price range for them.
• The locksmith can only charge more than the quote if you agree a new price in writing in the app.
• For lockouts, the locksmith will ask for proof of your right to enter the property before opening it.
• You can report a problem within 7 days of accepting a quote.

For locksmiths

• Joining and quoting are free. A fee of £15 is taken from your pre-paid credit when a customer accepts your quote. Your first 3 accepted jobs are free.
• You can claim the fee back as credit within 48 hours of acceptance if the customer cancels before you set off, the job is fake or a wrong number, or the customer was outside the area they gave. We review claims within 2 working days.
• You must keep your insurance and other documents up to date, honour your quoted price, check proof of right to enter before any lockout job, and arrive within your ETA or tell the customer.
• Overcharging or not turning up earns a strike. Three strikes, or one serious case, means removal.

Our responsibility

We check locksmiths before they join and act on complaints, but we don't carry out the work and aren't responsible for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll tell registered users about important changes before they take effect.
